East Atlanta Village Strut & Sci-Cycle at Atlanta Streets Alive

Mathematics in Motion kicked off the fall 2019 season with this family fun festival in East Atlanta. We went back to our roots and combined math and movement. It was amazing to see how creative everyone was.

Mathematics in Motion was thrilled to be asked to set up at the Atlanta Streets Alive festival. This festival is for the cycling residents of Atlanta, with bikes, bikes, more bikes, and the occasional unicycle! So, we posed the question: is it possible to ride a bike with wheels that aren't round? Even square? We talked about this and about some "funky wheels" that roll just as nicely as circles. It was a day of learning and fun for all.
